How do I get the Bonus Offer?

It couldn't be easier. When you recharge $30 on selected rate plans before 11.59PM AEST on 30/06/13, follow the prompts in the SMS you will receive to choose between these two Bonus Offers:

  • Up to 100 Bonus Minutes for standard national calls

or

  • Up to 500 MB Bonus Data

They'll then be automatically applied within 72 hours to your service. The Bonus Offer must be redeemed within 28 days of recharging or before your next recharge, whichever is earlier.

    Q) What is the Bonus offer? 
    A) During the "promotional period" 12.01am AEST 1st May 2013 to 11.59pm AEST 30th June 2013, selected Optus Prepaid Mobile customers on eligible plans who recharge with $30 will be offered the choice of up to 100 standard nationals minutes ("Bonus Minutes") or up to 500MB data ("Bonus Data") on every recharge of $30.

    Q) How do I redeem the Bonus Offer?
    A) If you’ve recently received an SMS for this offer, simply recharge your Optus Prepaid mobile with $30 during the promotional period and follow the prompts within the SMS bonus message received. The Bonus Minutes or Bonus Data will be applied automatically to your balance within 72 hours. You can recharge just as you normally would, online, in an Optus store, via 444, or at any participating recharge outlet (e.g. Coles/7 Eleven/Australia Post).

    Q) When will my Bonus Minutes or Bonus Data be applied? 
    A) Please allow up to 72 hours from the point you have activated your recharge of $30 to allow for the bonus to be applied. You will receive a confirmation SMS once it has been applied to your balance. If at any time you would like to check the status of your balance, simply dial 555 from your Optus Prepaid mobile, or SMS 'Balance' to 9999.

    Q) What can I use the 100 standard national minutes for? 
    A) The 100 standard national minutes are charged in one minute increments and can be used for standard national calls to Australian mobiles and national fixed lines within Australia (excludes satellite calls).

    Q) What can I use the 500MB data for? 
    A) The 500MB data is charged in 1MB increments and can be used for mobile internet browsing and downloading content within Australia (content charges apply).

    Q) Is the Bonus Offer applicable on every recharge of $30?
    A) Yes, you can recharge your Optus Prepaid Mobile as many times as you like with $30 during the promotional period and provided you are on an eligible plan and have received an SMS invite from Optus relating to this offer, either 100 standard national minutes or 500MB data will be applied each time you recharge. You need to ensure that your recharge is activated during the Promotional Period in order to receive your Bonus Offer. Please note that standard maximum balances apply as per your rate plan. The Bonus Offer must be redeemed within 28 days of recharging or on your next recharge, whichever is earlier.

    Q) Is the Bonus Offer applicable for all Optus Prepaid Mobile customers?
    A) No, you must have been sent an SMS invite from Optus

    Q) If I forward the SMS to my friend who is an Optus Prepaid mobile customer, can they also receive the offer?
    A) No, you must have been sent an SMS invite from Optus- the offer is not transferable to other Optus Prepaid mobile customers.

    Q) When will the Bonus Minutes or Bonus Data expire? 
    A) The Bonus Minutes or Bonus Data will expire after 28 days or before your next recharge, whichever is earlier.

    Q) If I don't use all of the Bonus Minutes or Bonus Data within 28 days, can I recharge so that it will roll the balance over? 
    A) No, you will need to use the Bonus Minutes or Bonus Data within 28 days or before next recharge, whichever is earlier. If you are on a non-rollover plan any existing credit and any Bonus Minutes or Bonus Data will expire on recharge.

    Q) Do I need to activate my recharge of $30 during the promotional period to be eligible for the Bonus Offer?
    A) Yes you will need to activate your recharge of $30 during the Promotional Period to receive the SMS with the Bonus Offer. It will be applied to your balance within 72 hours of you replying back with your choice of bonus credit to '111'. The Bonus Offer must be redeemed within 28 days of recharging or before your next recharge, whichever is earlier.

    Q) Do I need a minimum MyCredit balance to use my Bonus Offer?
    A) Yes, a minimum MyCredit balance of 21c is required to use either your Bonus Minutes or Bonus Data.

    Q) I have deleted my bonus offer SMS how can I get my Bonus Offer?
    A) Simply send an SMS with "BONUS OFFER" to '111' and the SMS bonus offer message will be sent. You will not be charged for this message.

    Q) How will I know that my Bonus Offer has been applied? 
    A) Please allow up to 72 hours for your Bonus Offer to be applied to your service. You will receive a SMS when your Bonus Offer has been applied to your Optus Prepaid service. If it has been over 72hrs since you have redeemed your Bonus Offer please send an email to energiserdropbox@optus.com.au and your enquiry will be responded to within 3 business days.
