SIM BackUp

SIM BackUp

SIM BackUp also known as SIM Saver/ PhoneBook Backup, allows customers to backup all their contact details from their handset to their contact list (My Contacts) on Optus Zoo.

On the 15th September 2012, Optus will be discontinuing the SIM BackUp service.

The discontinuation of this service will not affect the contact list stored on your handset or SIM card. It does mean that if you are using SIM BackUp to backup contact details from your handset or SIM Card to your contact list (My Contacts) on Optus Zoo, you should:

  • Ensure that you have copied and saved any important contact information currently stored within ‘My Contacts’ on Optus Zoo to another format or media. It will not be accessible after 15 September 2012.
  • Consider whether you need to arrange an alternative means of backing up the contact information stored on your handset or SIM card.

We encourage you to backup up your contact information using Optus Smart SafeTM (Optus Business customers are not eligible for this service) or another backup service.
