IOU CREDIT FOR PREPAID MOBILE
We know it's annoying when you run out of prepaid credit and can't recharge straight away, so that's why we offer IOU credit. We'll put some credit on your phone and the next time you recharge we’ll subtract the credit from your balance.
Getting an IOU is easy to do. Just text IOU to 468.
On My Prepaid Daily and Daily Plus, we put a $2 credit onto your phone, then, the next time you recharge, the $2 credit will be subtracted from your balance. Simple.
WHICH IOU CREDIT CAN I GET?
My Prepaid Daily, Daily Plus and Long Expiry
We'll spot you with $2 credit you can use for up to two days. When you recharge (any amount on Daily/Daily Plus or $15 or above on Long Expiry), $2 will be subtracted from your balance.
My Prepaid Ultimate, Monthly Plus and Monthly
Next time you run out of credit you can get an IOU for 10 minutes of standard national calls, 10 standard national SMS/MMS and 10MB data, all for use in Australia, within two days. If you've got at least $2 Extras Credit, we'll immediately deduct that amount from your Extras Credit and give you your IOU credit straight away. If you don't have enough Extras Credit, we'll deduct 10 minutes and 10MB data from your next $10 or $20 recharge or $2 Extras Credit from your next recharge of $30 or above.
Other Prepaid plans
We'll spot you with $3 credit you can use for standard national calls, standard national SMS/MMS and data, all for use in Australia within three days.
When you recharge with $30 or above, $3 will be subtracted from your MyCredit or Credit balance. There are some plans that offer a $5, $10, $15 and $20 MyCredit recharge. If you’ve recharged with one of these amounts, your $3 will be subtracted from this balance.
You must have recharged with at least $10 within the last 6 months to use IOU. My Prepaid Daily: You must have less than $1 MyCredit balance. My Prepaid Daily Plus: You must have less than $2 MyCredit balance. My Prepaid Long Expiry: You must have less than 20 cents MyCredit balance and no MyTalk Add On balance. My Prepaid Monthly, My Prepaid Monthly Plus and My Prepaid Ultimate: You must have run out of credit for standard national calls, SMS/MMS and data. If you don't have enough Extras Credit, we'll deduct 10 minutes and 10MB data from your next $10 or $20 recharge or $2 Extras Credit from your next recharge of $30 or above. Other Prepaid Plans: If you're on the Dollar Days, $2 Days 3G Ready, $2 Days 4G Ready or Optus Day to Day plan you must have less than $2 MyCredit balance to use this service. If you’re on any other Optus Prepaid mobile plan (excluding My Prepaid plans) you must have less than $1.50 MyCredit or Credit balance to use this service.
