  • Is there a limit to the number of plans I can connect to a Data Pool?

    The good news is you can have as many My Plan Plus (including SIM Only) mobile plans and My Mobile Broadband Plus plans on the same billing account as you like (subject to credit check approval). The data (plus any extra data used) combines into one Data Pool which can be shared by all the devices connected to these plans, plus every mobile connected to one of our latest My Plan Plus (including SIM Only) mobile plans on the account gets unlimited standard national talk and text.

  • How can I keep track of my usage?

    We'll send you SMS usage alerts once you've reached approximately 50%, 85% and 100% of your combined shared data inclusion. We’ll also send you an SMS when you’ve reached 85% and 100% of any additional data that you use above your standard combined shared data inclusion each month.
    And you can check usage by:

  • Does my Data Pool's data roll over from month-to-month?

    No, any unused data in the Data Pool expires at the end of the billing month.

  • Can I share data using my existing Optus mobile phone or mobile broadband plan?

    Your services will need to be on the same bill to get Data Pool and you will need to ensure that your services are connected to eligible plans. The eligible plans include:

    • My Plan Plus mobile phone plans
    • My Plan Plus SIM Only mobile phone plans
    • My Mobile Broadband Plus plans

    If your services are not on an eligible plan, then to take advantage of Data Pool you will need to change to one of the plans listed above and there may be cancellation or other fees payable.
    If your services are on eligible plans but different bills you will need to contact Customer Care on 133 937 to have them put on the one bill.

  • What if I don't want to share my mobile or mobile broadband plan's data?

    My Plan Plus (including SIM Only) mobile and My Mobile Broadband Plus plans on the same bill will combine their included data and any extra data into a single pool.
    If you don't want to share your data between your services they'll need to be on separate bills.

  • Can I share my included minutes?

    Your plan’s included minutes are not shareable. A plan’s included minutes can only be used by the mobile service to which they are connected, but remember, any mobile service connected to one of our latest My Plan Plus (including SIM Only) mobile plans will get the benefit of unlimited minutes to standard national Australian mobiles and landlines, 13/1300 numbers and voicemail.

  • Can I share included SMS/MMS?

    Your included SMS/MMS are not shareable. A plan’s included SMS/MMS can only be used by the mobile service to which they are connected. Remember, any mobile service connected to one of our latest My Plan Plus (including SIM Only) mobile plans will get the benefit of unlimited standard national SMS/MMS and unlimited international standard SMS/MMS to selected countries.
    Also, it is important to note that My Mobile Broadband Plus plans do not have text inclusions.

This service is for use within Australia only.

You must be the account holder to log in to Optus My Account and add additional plans. Any changes made through My Account will be the responsibility of the account holder.

COVERAGE: With 3G devices, you can access our 3G (UMTS 2100 MHz / 900 MHz) network. With 4G devices and a compatible plan, you can access our 3G network plus some or all of our 4G Plus network. Our 4G Plus network uses multiple frequencies (LTE 700 / 1800 / 2100 / 2300 / 2600 MHz) to provide coverage. Coverage availability will vary depending on your device and location. Check coverage at optus.com.au/coverage based on your address and device.

GENERAL: Fair Go policy applies. For more info, see our Critical Information Summaries which can be found at optus.com.au/cis or pick one up in store.

DATA POOL: If you have more than one My Plan Plus (including SIM Only), My Plan Business (including SIM Only & Tech Fund), My Mobile Broadband Plus or Mobile Broadband Business plan on the same billing account, the included monthly data allowance will combine into one data pool, which will be shared by all eligible services on that account. This data can also be shared with any existing Share Data Plan. Any unused data in the data pool expires at the end of each billing month.

ADDITIONAL DATA: Additional data automatically charged at $10/1GB. If you use more than 150GB we may continue to charge you at the same rates or restrict your data use until next billing period.

USAGE ALERTS: Usage alerts are not real-time and delays of up to 48 hours may be experienced.

MY ACCOUNT: Services that share data may have a service login to My Account which will display all service numbers contributing or using the shared data pool on the account, and the amount each service has used. If you have more than 6 services on your account you may not be able to use My Account to monitor usage or add/change alerts.

MY OPTUS APP: My Optus Smartphone app is available on iPhone iOS 6 or later and most Android mobile phones using Android 2.3.3 or later. It’s also available on iPad iOS 7 or later and on Android Tablets 4.0 and upwards. You need an Optus personal mobile account to use the My Optus app. It may not be suitable for accounts with 6 or more services.

DATA USAGE: Download and use of app requires data usage. Usage Info: Usage info isn’t generated in real time and may be delayed by up to 48 hours.
