What is the My Optus App?

The My Optus app is a smartphone application that gives you 24/7 access to your Optus account. It's now even quicker and easier to check your data usage, pay a bill, chat to customer care and more, right on your phone.

And it's still FREE to use on the Optus Network within Australia. Some functions in the app might use a small amount of data.

Roaming incurs international rates. Remember to switch off data or purchase a data roaming pack.

Which phones?

My Optus app is now available on iPhone iOS 6 or later and most Android mobile phones using Android 2.3.3 or later.

Who can use My Optus?

My Optus is for Optus personal and small business mobile customers. My Optus doesn't currently support accounts with large fleet plans or plans where usage is shared.

View and pay bills

Keep track of your bills and avoid late fees by viewing and paying bills on your phone.

If you have any questions, just select Live Chat to chat with one of our customer service people.


Chat to Optus

If you use an iPhone or an approved Android smartphone, you can chat with an Optus Customer Care person using the mobile chat feature. Simply swipe to the right and press Live Chat to ask questions and get help with your Optus service.


Call Optus

Simply swipe down and choose your enquiry type to speak to a customer service person.

We've also included handy diagnostic information about your phone and plan to speed up your enquiry.


Change call settings

Always be in touch by diverting* your phone calls to another mobile or voicemail, with four options:

Track your usage

To stay on top of your mobile usage you can see how much of your plan's voice, data and text you have used for the month, how much you have left, and how many days before your usage restarts.

If you're on a new Optus My Plan it will also show how much the next voice or data level will cost if you go over your monthly limit.

You can also see total charges for usage that's not included in your plan.

A quick note: typically, mobile usage info is updated within 24 hours.


International Roaming

My Optus – Your Agreement

Licence: Optus Networks Pty Ltd and Optus Mobile Pty Ltd grant you a licence to use this app for your personal, non-commercial purposes on your mobile device. It’s revocable and non-transferrable, and does not transfer any rights in the app to you.

Conditions of use: you must not copy any of the intellectual property in this app or use the app in a way that is contrary to this agreement or is not in good faith.

Charges: this app is free to download and use for Optus mobile customers. Some functions in the app might use a small amount of data. If you’re roaming, all data used will be charged at the applicable roaming rate. Any prices or payments referred to in this app include GST, unless we state otherwise.

Timing and accuracy of info: you may be able to view info about your mobile usage in the app. This information isn’t generated in real-time. Typically, mobile usage info is updated within 24 hours. You may also be able to see a description of your plan inclusions in the app – we’ve tried to make those descriptions as simple as possible, but for an authoritative source please refer to the Optus Standard Agreement.

Notifications: we may send you push notifications relating to the operation of the app or your use of it, your agreements or services with Optus, and related offers.

Privacy: we collect and use personal information to deliver services and information in the app, to understand your experience with it and how we can improve it, and to provide notices or updates to you. We do keep and access records of conversations with our customer service reps via the chat function. Check out our Privacy Policy for more info about how Optus handles personal information, and how you can access it.

Security: we use industry standard security measures to keep the app secure, but we can’t guarantee it’s impervious to all attacks. It’s also important that you keep your device secure and your passwords secret.

Upgrades and new releases: these will also be subject to the provisions of this agreement.

Changes to this agreement: we may change, add or remove parts of this agreement or the app at any time. We’ll notify you about major changes. If you don’t agree with those changes, you should delete the app.

Ending use of app: we may terminate this agreement and cease providing the app at any time. You may also do so by deleting it.
