TTY Handsets

The Superprint 4425 and the Uniphone 1150 TTY handsets are specially designed telephone handsets to assist people who are deaf or who have speech / hearing impairments to communicate with others. TTY handsets are available to rent on a monthly basis.

Are you eligible? Only customers on the Optus network are able to rent the handset. Check your availability here or simply contact us for further information.

The following policy applies to handsets purchased or rented from Optus. If you have purchased your handset from Optus, you will need to provide proof of purchase.

^ If your handset does not work on arrival or stops working and you have not caused the fault or damaged the handset, please contact Optus and we will send you a courier bag for return of the handset, its packaging and all accessories and Optus will arrange for assessment.

Please note that if the fault or damage to the handset has been caused by you or by unreasonable or unintended use, then you will be charged for the cost of the handset repair or replacement.

If the handset is found to be faulty, we will: (a) Send out a replacement handset that is the same as the original handset or an equivalent model if the original handset is not available

If the handset does not work, breaks down, or develops a serious fault, that cannot be rectified within reasonable limits, and is no longer covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, and you do not wish to receive a replacement handset, you may be entitled to a refund. Please contact Optus to discuss whether you are eligible for a refund and to return the handset.


Important Notes

All prices include GST.

If you are renting your handset, you only pay $2.75 per month for the period you rent the handset. No Rental Establishment fee applies. If you change your telephone service provider you must contact Optus to arrange for return of the handset.
