Our Favourite Looks from the 2018 SAG Awards Red Carpet

Awards season has truly kicked off and the competition is fierce – and we don’t mean for pretty statuettes. Getting on the best dressed lists is a battle in and of itself – with everyone dressed to the nines, it’s hard to be the centre of attention. These stars have no problem standing out in the crowd. Behold, our favourite looks from the 24th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Danielle Brooks in Marc Bouwer

The Orange is the New Black star must be very happy to get out of a prison jumpsuit and into a stunning gown – this shimmering ombrè floor-length number is definitely not one for the faint hearted. We love the fact that her eyes and nails match it so well. Add in her dramatic ‘20s wave hairdo and we’re heart eyes-ing all over this look.

Greta Gerwig in Bottega Veneta

We can’t decide if Greta Gerwig’s dress is more of a mustard or charteuse, but either way, we think the cut is comfy and classic. We’re also loving the heavy metal embellishments – it’s an unusual choice of outfit but perfectly in keeping with her quirky aesthetic.

Kate Hudson in Valentino

Kate Hudson’s getting some flak for this dress but we think it’s a bold choice – while she usually goes for something more sexy, this certainly isn’t out of character for the star. It’s got a lot going on, but she pulls it off impressively while ensuring that her name spikes on Google search. Good going, Kate.

Kelly Marie Tran in Mary Katrantzou

Kelly Marie Tran opted for a beautifully embroidered gown filled with bright summery colours – we’d love to order an entire wardrobe created from that pattern!

Kristen Bell in J. Mendel

Kristen Bell follows the strapless trend with a princess gown with a corset-like top and beaded detailing. It’s simple and sophisticated, surely landed her on best-dressed lists across the internet.

Lupita Nyong’o in Ralph & Russo

We’re loving Lupita Nyong’o’s stylish strapless gown – she pairs metallic sequins with feathers and we’re here for all that drama. We think the star resembles an award’s statuette herself with the dramatic silhouette and shiny material – in the best way possible.

Margot Robbie in Miu Miu

Not a lot of women can pull off voluminous feathers right at the waist, but we aren’t surprised that Margot Robbie can. The pale pink colour makes the feathers seem fresh and light somehow, while the beading and train add some dramatic details.

Marsai Martin in Miri Couture

It can be hard for a young star to find a lovely dress that remains age appropriate, but black-ish’s Marsai Martin has pulled it off with flying colours. The burgundy shade keeps it from looking too twee, while the ruffled neckline adds a welcome detail to an otherwise simple gown.

Miles Brown

The black-ish kids are on a roll this red carpet, with Miles Brown serving up a handsome look. If he and Noah Schnapp are to be believed, we’re not seeing the end of sockless loafers any time soon. We especially love the floral detail by his collar.

Millie Bobby Brown in Calvin Klein by Appointment

The young un’s are stealing the show this season, and Millie Bobby Brown is no exception – her Converse paired with couture ensures that she stands out while remaining comfortable. And is her hairdo Princess Leia-inspired? We can only hope.

Natalia Dyer in Dior Haute Couture

Natalia Dyer is wearing a gown that is basically me in dress form. She lets the dress do the talking with its constellation-inspired embellishments and keeps the rest of the look simple with sleep hair and a neat cat’s eye. We think it’s one of the best looks this season.

Noah Schnapp in Stella McCartney

We may be a bit biased towards the Stranger Things crew, but how can you not be? All the kids are adorable and super well-dressed – I mean, check out this dark green velvet suit paired with a peacock-pattern bowtie on Noah Schnapp! It’s quirky and stylish, and makes it even clearer that these kids will be dominating the red carpet for years to come.
