Is Optus TV unmetered on my Optus Broadband connection?

If you connect your Optus TV with Fetch set-top box to an Optus Home Broadband service, data usage generated by purchase and/or download of content will be zero-rated. Other data usage such as downloads and uploads associated with software updates, applications, games or the downloading of content via Free-To-Air catch up services will not be zero-rated.

How can I tell if I can get an Optus broadband service at my address?

Simply select "Next Step" on any of the plans to check availability at your place.

What type of broadband will I get at my house? Cable or ADSL?
a
You'll be connected to Optus Cable if it's available in your area. Otherwise, you'll be connected to ADSL, as long as that's available where you are. Choose "Next Step" on any of the plans to check availability.

Can I transfer my existing phone number to Optus?
a
In most cases as long as you are staying in the same local area. Transferring your number can take up to 10 business days. Just make sure you don't cancel your service with your current provider until the transfer is complete.

If I get Cable will an Optus line be run to my house?

Yes. A technician will come to your house and install a Cable connection from the street to your premises, and a connection socket inside your house. Learn more.

What happens if I use all my monthly data? Will I be charged more?
a
No, you won't be charged any extra if you go over your monthly data allowance; we'll simply limit your connection speed to 256kbps until your next billing month starts. Plus you can always go for a double data month, you get 2 free a year.

Minimum Total Cost: Includes payment by direct debit. Cancellation fees may apply.

Bundle discount: Offer available to Optus customers who sign up all services in the same address and maintain a $30+ Optus Mobile monthly plan.

Double Your Data: You can have your monthly data allowance doubled up to twice per calendar year for free. If you need additional data top ups, they're just $20 each.

Optus TV with Fetch: Access to free to air digital television services required. If you connect your Optus TV with Fetch set-top box to an Optus Home Broadband service, data usage generated by purchase and/or download of content will be zero-rated. Data usage such as the download of Free-To-Air Catch Up Services content, downloads and uploads associated with software updates, and applications will not be zero-rated. Optus Acceptable Use Policy applies. You may only use the recording functionality of the service for viewing programmes at your nominated address at a more convenient time. Additional charges apply for add-ons including TV Packs, Channel Packs, interactive services and pay-per-view movies. You may also need a powerline adaptor which you can purchase from us for $40.00.

Cable Premium Speed: Available to Cable serviceable customers only. Upgrades to Optus' fastest DOCSIS 3.0 internet service which increases download speeds for Australian-hosted content. Actual download speed can be affected by factors such as your equipment and LAN performance, settings, hardware, software, internet activity, location of content accessed and congestion. WiFi connection may not be as fast as wired device. Only Optus-supplied DOCSIS 3.0-compliant EMTAs will be supported. Computer must meet minimum system requirements and may need network settings optimised.

Speed: Many factors affect speed such as internet traffic, your line condition, your hardware and software, the data source or destination and your location.

We do not offer Priority Assistance. A provider who does is Telstra.
