A million Aussie homes with superfast internet
The rapid rollout of the NBN network across Australia continues, with nbn™ edging closer to its goal to connect eight million premises by 2020. Over 1.3 million homes and businesses now have access to the NBN, and the number of premises with an active NBN service more than doubled to 486,000 in the last financial year! Which leads us to...
Fibre to the Node technology launch
nbn™ has officially launched Fibre to the Node (FTTN), and Optus isn't wasting anytime - we've already put in our first orders! The initial FTTN rollout was trialled by nbn™ in Belmont, NSW, and saw users hitting superfast speeds of up to 100Mbps/40Mbps. nbn™ aims to have 500,000 FTTN premises ready for service by mid-2016 and 3.7 million by mid-2018.
