Minimum total cost includes payment by direct debit. If you switch to a shorter contract period you must pay a cancellation fee and any outstanding modem repayments.

Included Data: 200GB. Data usage will be counted in kilobytes and includes both uploads and downloads. Excess data is automatically charged at $10 for an additional 10GB once you exceed your Included Data. Maximum of 5 automatic data top ups of 10GB for $10 each per month. If data usage exceeds 250GB your service will be slowed to 256Kbps until your next bill cycle when the Included Data automatically resets. Unused data does not roll over. Data can only be used within Australia and only used with the compatible modem purchased from supplied by Optus.

Serviceability: Service is only available in selected areas on the Optus 4G Plus network with the modem supplied by Optus. There may also be technical or commercial reasons that affect your ability to access the service at your address. Check your service availability here. We recommend that you position your modem close to a window to maximise signal strength.

Speed: Whilst the Home Wireless Broadband service uses our 4G network, it is designed to be used in the home and its data speeds are different to mobile and mobile broadband speeds on our 4G network. In metropolitan areas where there is 2300 MHz coverage at your nominated address, download and upload speeds of up to 12/1Mbps are available. If 2300 MHz coverage is not available at your nominated address, download and upload speeds of up to 5/1 Mbps are available.

Your actual speed will depend on a number of factors including congestion, location, local conditions, hardware, software and general internet traffic.

The modem can be purchased from Optus upfront in the first month on a month to month plan, in 12 monthly repayments on a 12 month contract or $0 upfront on a 24 month contract. The SIM supplied with the modem must not be removed and will not work in any other device.

$20 Bundle Discount: One $20 monthly discount applies per eligible Home Wireless broadband and postpaid mobile ($30/mth or above plans) bundle. If you cease your eligible mobile plan the $20 bundle discount will be removed without notice. Not available in conjunction with any other bundle discount offer. For existing customers any existing bundle discounts including the $10 mobile discount and $10 home wireless broadband discount will be removed when taking up this offer. The Home Wireless broadband and mobile services must be in the same name and same billing address to be eligible for the $20 bundle discount

General: Offer available to credit approved customers

Non-direct debit fee: A $2.20 fee will be charged each month if you choose not to pay your bill by direct debit. To set-up direct debit go to optus.com.au/myaccount
Exception: For payments made by credit, debit, charge or prepaid cards, the non-direct debit fee will not apply.

Payment processing fee: If you pay by BPay savings or direct debit from a bank account or credit card, there are no processing fees. A processing fee applies to non-direct debit payments made by credit or charge card and/or if you pay at Australia Post. For details go to optus.com.au/payments.

Paper invoice fee: A $2.20 paper invoice fee will be charged each month if you choose to receive a paper bill. For online billing or to request an email bill go to optus.com.au/myaccount

  • If I get the $20 bundle discount, do I also get 1 month free access fee?

    You’ll receive the 1 month free access fee offer as $80 credit on your first bill and this will happen whether or not you have the $20 bundle discount.

  • What speeds can I get?

    Whilst the service uses our 4G network, the service is designed to be used in the home and the speed of data transmitted using the service is different from the speed of data using other services supplied over our 4G network. In metropolitan areas where there is 2300 MHz coverage at your nominated address, download and upload speeds of up to 12/1Mbps are available. If 2300 MHz coverage is not available at your nominated address, download and upload speeds of up to 5/1 Mbps are available.

  • How can I monitor my usage?

    We'll send you usage alerts once you've reached approximately 50%, 85% and 100% of your broadband allowance.

    We'll also send you usage alerts when you've reached 85% and 100% of any extra data that you use above your standard plans inclusion each month.

  • What happens if I use up my plan's included data?

    We’ll automatically top up your data for just $10 for an extra 10GB. You can get a maximum of 5 top-ups of 10GB for $10 each per billing cycle. Once you’ve used 250GB (including your plan’s included data of 200GB) we'll simply limit your connection speed to 256kbps until your next billing month starts.

  • Can I relocate my service?

    Yes. The service operates on the 4G Plus network, but before moving we recommend you call us to check service ability in your new location.
