Vividwireless, part of the Optus family

To give you even more excellent wireless internet options, we've teamed up with Vividwireless. Vividwireless offers wireless broadband with unlimited data in selected areas using the Optus 4G mobile network.

Vividwireless is entirely owned by Optus but if you buy a Vividwireless home wireless broadband plan, they'll take care of your customer service and billing needs, and you'll login to Vividwireless to manage your account.

OPTUS HOME WIRELESS BROADBAND:

Minimum total cost includes payment by direct debit. If you switch to a shorter contract period you must pay a cancellation fee and any outstanding modem repayments.

Included data on 200GB plan: 200GB. Data usage will be counted in kilobytes and includes uploads and downloads. Excess data is automatically charged at $10 for an additional 10GB up to a maximum of 5 top ups per month. If data usage exceeds 250GB your service will be slowed to 256Kbps.

Serviceability: Service is only available in selected areas on the Optus 4G Plus network with the modem supplied by Optus at the address specified in your application. There may also be technical or commercial reasons that affect your ability to access the service at your address. Check your service availability here. We recommend that you position your modem close to a window to maximise signal strength.

Speed: Whilst the Home Wireless Broadband service uses our 4G network, it is designed to be used in the home and its data speeds are different to mobile and mobile broadband speeds on our 4G network. In metropolitan areas where there is 2300 MHz coverage at your nominated address, download and upload speeds of up to 12/1Mbps are available. If 2300 MHz coverage is not available at your nominated address, download and upload speeds of up to 5/1 Mbps are available.

Your actual speed will depend on a number of factors including congestion, location, local conditions, hardware, software and general internet traffic.

The SIM supplied with the modem must not be removed and will not work in any other device.

Non-direct debit fee: A $2.20 fee will be charged each month if you choose not to pay your bill by direct debit. To set-up direct debit go to optus.com.au/myaccount
Exception: For payments made by credit, debit, charge or prepaid cards, the non-direct debit fee will not apply.

Payment processing fee: If you pay by BPay savings or direct debit from a bank account or credit card, there are no processing fees. A processing fee applies to non-direct debit payments made by credit or charge card and/or if you pay at Australia Post. For details go to optus.com.au/payments.

Paper invoice fee: A $2.20 paper invoice fee will be charged each month if you choose to receive a paper bill. For online billing or to request an email bill go to optus.com.au/myaccount

We will provide you with unique login details to access your account. The IP (Internet Protocol) address allocated to you may be different each time that you log in.

Month free promotion: Credit applies to the access fee, only once per new customer. Credit will be applied in month 2 based on the plan active at the date the credit is applied.

So I don't have to choose my Vividwireless plan now?

That’s right. All you need to do at this stage is confirm a service that will work at your address and then buy a modem. Once you get home and plug it in, you choose your plan and enter your payment details. Then you’re connected to the internet!

What is the speed of the service?

The maximum speed available depends on many factors as the wireless network is shared with Optus mobile customers. In areas where we have 2300 MHz spectrum we have a lot of network capacity and offer speeds of up to 12/1Mbps (download/upload). In other compatible areas we offer speeds of up to 5/1Mbps (as we have less capacity on the network).

Can I use a modem I already have?

You will need to use the new WiFi modem for these plans to access this service.

I already have Optus Home Wireless Broadband - can I move to the new plans?

Yes, you can move to the new Vividwireless plans by calling Optus, but you will need to purchase a new modem as your current modem won’t work for the Vividwireless service. They will cancel your existing contract and waive any cancellation fees, but you must pay any outstanding modem fees. Vividwireless modems can be purchased on the Optus website and through other Optus channels, or through Harvey Norman and The Good Guys, or at vividwireless.com.au.

Do I get Optus Perks discounts if I have a Vividwireless plan?

No. Optus Perks are only available to Optus customers.
