Small businesses soar into the cloud with Optus OfficeApps

Optus today launched Optus OfficeApps, a new portfolio of cloud services for small and medium businesses (SMBs). It provides access to vital business applications on the go while taking the cost and hassle out of managing IT.

Optus OfficeApps will deliver a range of integrated business tools, accessible via a single web portal on a range of devices, to help SMBs manage their communications, collaboration, marketing and more. IT headaches will be eliminated with Optus OfficeApps Support, a new dedicated IT helpdesk offering up to 24/7 support (online chat, phone and screen-share) to help customers get their applications up and running quickly.

Available from today, the first solution is the Optus OfficeApps Email and Collaboration Suite. It includes business domain name registration, Google Apps for Business™ such as email, calendar, documents, spreadsheets, presentations, instant messaging, and dedicated Optus OfficeApps Support. Google Apps are easily accessible via the purpose-built Optus OfficeApps online portal.

Optus OfficeApps Pricing
Optus OfficeApps is available to both existing Optus and non-Optus SMB customers on a 12-month contract or monthly subscription basis on an introductory plan. Starting from $10 per month, there are three pricing options available depending on the connection fee and level of Optus OfficeApps Support required.

On the $25 Email and Collaboration Suite package, customers pay no connection fee, have unlimited 24/7 Optus OfficeApps support for every user and also receive a 12-month TrueLocal.com.au business advertising package to help them promote their business online1 (minimum total cost of $300 over 12 months). Customers will also receive migration assistance from supported mail services and end-user webinar training to ensure business productivity is maintained through a smooth transitional period2.

Customers can also access Optus OfficeApps from their mobile device3 without incurring any data charges when on an Optus SMB Mobile or Business Mobile Broadband plan4.

"Our research shows that 69 per cent of Australian SMBs already use mobile broadband and 63 per cent use smartphones5 and that usage will continue to grow. It's clear small businesses want to be more mobile and have the flexibility to access their business tools as and when they need it - OfficeApps provides them with that flexibility, supported by the strength of our mobile network and leading devices," Mr Ganeson said.

Optus OfficeApps will be made available across all Optus sales channels, including 'yes' stores and the Optus SMB partner network, by the end of the year. The Optus OfficeApps portfolio will also be expanded in the second half of the calendar year to include back-up and storage solutions. Details about other products will be announced closer to launch.
