With our 4G Plus network you get similar awesome high-speed mobile internet. It can also allow more people to connect at the same time!
Imagine the mobile network as a highway. 4G and 4G Plus are like lanes providing superfast mobile internet – they just happen to use two different fancy technology types (FD-LTE and TD-LTE) and spectrum bands (1800 MHZ and 2300 MHz) to whizz your data along. And together, they mean more 4G for you!
So 4G Plus is just another way of widening our 4G 'highway' so more people can enjoy 4G at the same time.

Where can I get 4G and 4G Plus?
To get Optus 4G and 4G Plus you need to be in an Optus 4G and 4G Plus network area, so check our coverage maps. You’ll also need a compatible plan and 4G or 4G Plus device, so keep an eye out for the 4G and 4G Plus symbol, online and in Optus stores.
4G provides coverage using 1800MHz spectrum and is known by its techie name FD-LTE (Frequency Division – Long Term Evolution). 4G is available in parts of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Byron Bay, Toowoomba, Perth, Adelaide, Coffs Harbour, Wollongong and the Newcastle/Hunter regions.
4G Plus provides coverage using 2300 MHz spectrum and is known by its techie name TD-LTE (Time Division – Long Term Evolution). Optus is the only provider in Australia to use TD-LTE technology. 4G Plus is available in parts of Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide.

COVERAGE: With 3G devices, you are able to access our 3G (2100Mhz/900Mhz) Network. With 4G devices and a compatible plan, you are able to access our entire 3G Network and 4G (1800Mhz) Network. With 4G Plus devices and a compatible plan, you can access all areas of the Optus Network, including our 3G, 4G & 4G Plus (2300Mhz) Networks.
