This 3 part series aims to describe the current situation for Asian language literacy in Australian education, describe the challenges faced by educators and recommend some ways forward to meet the needs of education systems which in turn, will meet the needs of the Australian economy in the future, within the Region.

In the first part of the series we focus on the drivers for change and why it is important today for Australian education systems to consider how they are prepared for the future to tackle the issue of Asia literacy.
