SLA
Optus guarantees the service availability of the SatWeb service, with rebates in the unlikely event that the guaranteed parameters are not met. Rebates are applied as a credit to the next monthly bill.

What are the main benefits of a VSAT solution?
A VSAT network consists of a ubiquitous delivery of services across an area. For example, Optus provides data VSAT services that cover all of Australia and New Zealand within the same footprint.
The main advantages can be summarised as:

- single management platform allowing complete network visibility
- quick deployment and availability - within the footprint
- efficient use of bandwidth - bandwidth is optimised based on customer application
- use of multicast allows for effective bandwidth re-use and fast, secure and cost-effective delivery of information/content within the network
- cost effective - VSAT networks allow for sharing of infrastructure/bandwidth within a network
- burstability - VSAT sites can be enabled to burst above a rate on a per need basis thus allowing for example a site to be provided capacity for EFTPOS transactions yet capable to burst to 1Mbps for file uploads etc.
What is Optus' satellite solutions experience?
Optus is the only satellite operator owner in the region and operates 4 satellites providing services to both broadcasters and VSAT customers. More specifically, Optus operates over 30,000 sites across its VSAT platforms. Can I order the entire end-to-end service for satellite solutions from Optus?
Yes. Optus provides a one-stop-shop service, which allows a customer a single point of contract through which they can order the end-to-end service from Optus.
How is end-to-end satellite service billed?
In a one-stop-shop application Optus Satellite Services will issue you a single monthly bill for the end-to-end service.
In the event of a service fault, the one-stop-shop facility allows for single-point-of-contact fault reporting. This means that you need only notify Optus of the fault and Optus will manage the fault rectification to conclusion.
Can I have different Satellite speeds in each direction?
Yes the choice is yours - satellite technology exploits the asymmetric nature of data traffic therefore asymmetric circuits (meaning circuits of different speeds in each direction) can be provided as well as symmetric circuits.
