With all your voice mails, emails and faxes in one in-box, you could be in better control and in touch with your colleagues and customers regardless of your location.
Unified messaging provides the capability of bringing together your voice mail, email and fax messages into a single inbox. Through Optus' wholly owned ICT services subsidiary, Alphawest, we can provide the expertise to design, implement and manage a unified messaging solution for your organisation.
The underlying foundation of Unified Messaging is a converged network and IP telephony.
Easier communication, especially when on the move - Employees can communicate using email, text, voice and other mixed media from a single device or desktop, over a range of available communication paths.
More efficient contact - Ensures that all people in the organisation can be contacted more effectively.
Keeps things together - Brings all your to-do items into a single location.
Presence - Unified Messaging can be combined with Presence technology which collects information about a user's availability, status and most appropriate mode of communications (e.g. desk phone, mobile, email or instant message) so you know when and how to call your contact. This reduces the time spent playing telephone tag with your contact, thereby increasing workforce productivity and efficiency.
Benefits to your business from a Unified Messaging solution can include:
Your telecommunications and technology partner in one. In 2005 Optus acquired Alphawest, a single-source provider of high performance information and communication technology (ICT). Unified messaging is the unification of all message formats (Email, voice mail, fax) into a single, easy to access interface. By integrating your corporate voicemail and fax with your corporate email (Microsoft® Exchange, Lotus® Notes), users are able to access all of their messages via their familiar email Inbox, hence allowing all message formats to be managed just like email. Furthermore, access to these messages can be achieved regardless of location, using communications devices such as telephone, PC, email client and web client. These features help increase efficiency, improve productivity of mobile workers and improve customer service.
Our Unified Messaging solutions can take advantage of existing messaging infrastructure investments, by interoperating with legacy voicemail systems. Furthermore, our Unified Messaging solutions can integrate with existing Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes deployments in order to provide full Unified Messaging functionality to your organisation. By sharing a common user directory, only a single user account will need to be managed for both email and voicemail.
In partnership, Optus and Alphawest can assess your existing communications messaging infrastructure and provide recommendations on how to best transition to a Unified Messaging environment.
