Commercial overview

124YES costs $1.50 (inc GST) connection fee per call plus your local call rate as per your Mobile Voice rate plan for the duration of the call. There is no additional cost to have the number sent to your phone as a text message.

The $1.50 (inc GST) connection fee will be charged irrespective of whether the requested destination number is engaged, not contactable or unable to be found.

Technical overview

Simply dial 124YES (i.e. 124-937 or 124927) depending on your mobile phone's keypad.

An operator will answer your call and ask for:

  • the name, and
  • town you require

They will search for the number on the public WhitePages listings and ask whether you want the number sent to your mobile as a text message. You will then be automatically connected to your requested number.

124YES will connect through to:

  • Residential and business numbers listed in the WhitePages.

However, some special numbers will not be connected through:

  • International numbers
  • 0055 numbers
  • 1900 numbers
  • 13 and 1300 numbers
  • 1800 numbers (or other freecall numbers)

For each call you will be charged a flagfall of $1.10, plus the local rates according to your pricing plan for the duration of the call.

What will I be charged if I am not connected successfully to my requested number with 124YES?

Although the number that you request connection to may be busy, not answered or is a silent listing, you will still incur the $1.10 flagfall, plus the local rates according to your pricing plan for the duration of the call.

What will be on my Optus mobile bill to indicate that I made a 124YES call?

Your mobile bill will display Connect2 under the 'Destination' column and 124YES under 'Tel No' column.

I was put through to the wrong number by 124YES, what should I do?

If you wish to report this and have your account credited for the incorrect call, please record the call details noting the date, time and the telephone number called (if information is available). You can then report this to Optus customer service.
