Security - Optus has attained global security standard certification at its Sydney data centre which provides a range of hosted services. Optus has attained ISO 27001 Information Security Management (ISMS) certification for EXPAN Co-location services at its Ultimo data centre in Sydney. The certification ISO 27001, is a globally recognised standard governing security of information and network systems. Optus' accreditation follows a thorough assessment of its hosting services including the identification and implementation of rigourous controls to meet the information security needs of its corporate and government customers.

In addition to this information security standard, Optus EXPAN Co-location data centres provide on-site security 24-7, biometric scanners and closed circuit TV. Intrusion detection systems are monitored constantly to ensure the security of your equipment while your authorised personnel can have unlimited access 24 x 7.

Performance - All Optus EXPAN Co-location services include a dedicated connection to the Internet backbone via Ethernet port, 32 x IP addresses, access to Optus data network services and comprehensive service level agreements.

Service - We provide a single point of contact. We also include 2 hours per month remote hands service to assist with routine activities like rebooting equipment, removing backup tapes and confirming cable seating.

Managed services - You can also choose from a suite of managed services such as EXPAN Managed Storage.

Technical overview

Hosting facilities are built by Optus using a pre-defined standard that accommodates customer servers and other hosted equipment. Racks are provisioned with high standard security, power and air-conditioned facilities for customer equipment. Network infrastructure enables high-speed access to Optus DIAS network elements and other Optus data products.
