Belvoir St Theatre
Optus continues their partnership with the Belvoir St Theatre, which brings about dynamic, challenging and visionary productions. Since opening in 1984, the Belvoir St Theatre has reflected the Optus value of Challenger Spirit by engaging Australia’s most prominent and promising talent to produce innovative and acclaimed works of art. Predominantly performing in the heart of Surry Hills, Belvoir regularly takes to the road, touring across Australia and internationally at major arts centres and festivals.
As an exclusive sponsor of the Community Access Program since 2006, Optus is proud to partner with Belvoir to bring about various initiatives. Programs include the Unwaged Performance Program and the Charitable Tickets program, where complimentary tickets and performances are given to financially disadvantaged members of the community along with charities, community groups and volunteers. To promote these programs, a series of postcards were designed where Duncan (pictured below) the lovable koala won the coveted Monthly Avant Award for best postcard of the month. Congratulations Duncan!

Bell Shakespeare
2012 will see the continued partnership between Optus and the Bell Shakespeare Company, which transforms classic Shakespearean works into modern interpretations that challenge artistic conventions. This year’s production line up includes a fresh take on Shakespeare’s Macbeth, the dark tragedy The Duchess of Malfi and the hilarious romp The School For Wives.
As part of our partnership, Optus is proud to sponsor the Hearts In A Row program. This initiative enables underprivileged or geographically disadvantaged schools to experience Bell Shakespeare productions with actors touring and performing at schools.
