Austin R. Bryan - Director, Optus Digital Media

Director, Optus Digital Media - Austin R. BryanAustin R. Bryan is the Director of Optus’ Digital Media division and is responsible for leading the provision of digital products and services for Australian consumers and small businesses. He was appointed to the role in August 2010.

Optus Digital Media is part of the SingTel Group’s Digital L!fe division. Group Digital L!fe was formed in April 2012 to lead the SingTel Group’s journey to becoming a leading player in the digital ecosystem, beyond connecting voices to bringing people together with innovative and cutting-edge digital services.

Prior to heading up Optus Digital Media, Austin was Director, Consumer Customer Care and later (Acting) Marketing Director for Optus’ Consumer division. In both roles Austin's responsibilities spanned all products and services in the Optus consumer portfolio including fixed line, mobile and Pay TV.

Austin has a strong background in leadership roles within global 'best of breed' companies. He is an expert in growing revenues, profitability, revamping inefficient businesses, creating sustainable financial/operational models and building high performance business cultures and teams.

Prior to joining Optus in 2008, Austin held a variety of senior roles across the financial, telecommunications and news sectors ranging from Director to CEO for organisations such as Hutchison, News Ltd, PBL and American Express.

Austin holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland and has completed Executive Education Programs, including Managing Strategic Innovation and Change, at Columbia; Competitive Marketing Strategy at Wharton Executive; and Achieving Breakthrough Service at Harvard Business.
