Murray King is Optus’ Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for the company’s financial affairs including corporate finance, procurement, taxation, treasury, risk management and investor relations.

Murray joined Optus in 2003 and has held the key positions of Commercial Director Mobile followed by Commercial Director Consumer before being promoted to Deputy Chief Financial Officer in 2007. Responsibilities in these roles have included financial management of the largest Optus customer facing units, statutory and regulatory reporting, credit functions and driving the Optus annual operating plan.

Before joining Optus, Murray worked at Virgin Mobile where he held the position of Finance Director and Acting Joint Managing Director. In these roles he was responsible for the financial and operational performance of the company which encapsulated the customer service and IT functions. Prior to working at Virgin Mobile, Murray held the position of Chief Financial Officer for technology companies Mincom Limited and Voxson Limited.

Murray’s extensive accounting, finance and audit experience was founded in global firms Price Waterhouse and Coopers & Lybrand. Murray holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Queensland University and is a member of the Australian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
