Optus today announced the launch of a revolutionary new offer for Australian consumers - for the first time Optus will give customers 50GB of free home broadband on a range of competitively priced mobile and telephony plans.

From 29 April 2012, Optus customers will be rewarded with 50GB of free home broadband a month when they sign up to the $89 Timeless Mobile Plan for 24 monthsi. Free broadband will also be on offer to Optus customers who sign up to the $59.95 Optus Home Advantage Planii, and businesses will receive 50GB of free broadband when they sign up to the $89 Business Timeless Planiii.

This ground-breaking offer with selected mobile and home phone plans represents fantastic value for Australians, making it even easier and cheaper for new and existing customers to stay connected at home, on-the-go and in the office.

Anthony Shiner, Optus Director of Fixed, said, "Optus revolutionised the fixed broadband market in 2007 with Australia's first 'yes' Fusion home broadband bundle. Today we take this a step further driving mobile lead convergence by giving our customers free fixed broadband as included value for the first time.

"Optus has a long history of delivering high value products and services and 50GB of free home broadband per month with mobile or home phone plans is a radical move for us and the industry."

As Australians embrace technology at an increasingly rapid rate, making the local market as competitive as ever, Optus seeks to differentiate itself from the competition by delivering broadband for free and giving customers more included value than ever before.

"We recently re-evaluated the Optus brand and our products to ensure we continue to provide Australians with superior choice and competition when it comes to telecommunications. This revolutionary free broadband offer is just the first of many initiatives from Optus to ensure our customers know we're looking out for them," said Mr Shiner.
