Optus today announced the appointment of John Paitaridis as its new Managing Director of Optus Business. Mr Paitaridis leads the Optus enterprise, corporate and government business and is responsible for all aspects of the division’s sales, marketing, products, operations and service delivery, including Optus’ wholly-owned subsidiary Alphawest and its Uecomm business.
Mr Paitaridis is an accomplished senior executive with 20 years’ experience in the telecommunications and IT sectors.
Paul O’Sullivan, Optus Chief Executive, said “We are delighted to welcome John to the Optus executive leadership team. He embodies our challenger spirit and his strong track record in sales and revenue growth will ensure that Optus gains further momentum as a strategic ICT partner to enterprise and government customers.”
Today’s announcement follows several senior appointments to the Optus Business leadership team last year, as the division strengthens its market position with differentiated offerings and focus on customer experience.
These include the appointment of Paul Mullins as Government Sales Director, Sam Kennedy as General Manager of Queensland and Northern Territory, and the promotion of former Optus SMB Marketing Director Phil Offer as the Director of Mobility and Convergence.
Mr Paitaridis joins Optus from Telstra, where he most recently held the position of Executive Director, Network Products and Services in the enterprise and government space. He also spent nearly a decade working in international markets, including five years as the APAC regional director and three years as head of sales and marketing in Europe.
John Paitaridis, Managing Director of Optus Business, said “This is an exciting time to join Optus Business, which has made strong in-roads in the government and enterprise market in the last 12 to 18 months after winning contracts with Sydney Water, Tabcorp and NRMA. Optus Business is an established whole-of-business ICT solutions provider with the capability to scale services across APAC as part of the SingTel Group, coupled with a strong customer focus.
“In 2012 we will up the ante in the enterprise market by striving to deliver the most compelling ICT solutions and become the service provider of choice for corporate and government customers. Our focus remains on delivering superior customer experience and giving customers a competitive edge through differentiated products and services in areas such as cloud computing, data networking, mobility and enterprise collaboration.”
