As the Optus Gympie Music Muster celebrates its 30th birthday this August, Optus has announced plans to ensure that 60,000+ festival-goers are kept up to date and in touch at the event via an expansive network upgrade and a dedicated festival mobi-site.
Returning to the Muster for the second year as headline partners, Optus Country General Manager, Anthony Shiner said the company has invested $650,000 into dedicated network coverage for the Amamoor Creek to ensure Optus festival-goers can stay connected.
“Optus is building new sites to bring permanent coverage to Amamoor forest and the local area all year round. Once again, we’ll have a team of technicians on site over the six day Muster to ensure the network is running to optimal levels,” Mr Shiner said.
“In the early days there was no mobile signal which often caused problems. Thanks to Optus installing a permanent network structure on site, staying in touch is now so much easier ensuring our festival-goers remain connected to their friends onsite as well as family and friends at home,” Vickii Cotter, Optus Gympie Music Muster CEO said.
This year, Optus is also bringing much more to the Muster than just an enhanced network operation. With the launch of the Optus 3G Muster Mobi-site from 1 August, Muster festival-goers will be able to keep up to date with the latest line-up and news prior to the festival.
Optus and non-Optus customers will be able to access the Mobi-site by texting 'MUSTER' to 193 939 (SMS Costs $0.55)* or visiting optusmuster.com for details on artist information, event and venue schedules, free music and wallpaper for their mobile and a personalised event planner.
More than 60,000 country music fans, the equivalent of the population of Rockhampton, will descend on this beautiful corner of Queensland for the six-day festival.
Muster attendees will also be able to enjoy the following Optus offerings on-site with all gold coin donations raised going to local charities.
- A fully functioning Optus Bush Internet Kiosk for mobile phone battery charging and internet access
- Optus Bucking Bull – with prizes for the rider who spends the longest time on the bull
- Optus Photo Booth to record Muster moments
- Optus Spinning Wheel with prize giveaways
