Optus announced today a key executive appointment within its Consumer division with the internal promotion of Gavin Williams to Marketing Director, Optus Consumer.
Most recently Gavin was the Acting Managing Director of Optus Wholesale and Satellite, a position he held since early 2010. Prior to this Gavin was the Director of Marketing and Strategy for Optus Wholesale and Satellite and has held several senior roles within Optus Business, where he achieved success in driving market share growth particularly in IP and convergence solutions.
During his time in Optus Wholesale and Satellite, Gavin was instrumental in the development of Optus' Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) strategy. He has led a number of successful campaigns to promote mobile broadband in the wholesale market where a number of Optus' wholesale customers have successfully introduced mobile broadband into their product mix.

Gavin's passion as a senior marketer at Optus is to deliver applications which bring true benefits to customers. He has been instrumental in the development and release of new IT&T solutions to the Australian market throughout his career.
He holds an honours Bachelor degree in Engineering (Electrical) from the University of Melbourne and was awarded an MBA from Macquarie University.
