Optus Enterprise and Business Group Managing Director, John Simon, has announced the appointment of Rohan Ganeson to the role of Deputy Managing Director, Optus Small and Medium Business (SMB).

The new position of Deputy Managing Director, SMB has been established to lead Optus' SMB division in the day-to-day operations of the business to increase market share and drive growth in the small and medium business market.

Mr Simon said, "This is a key role within Optus as it continues its commitment to the small and medium business market."

For the past 20 years Mr Ganeson has worked within the telecommunications and IT industries in Australia and overseas, holding key executive roles in Sales and Marketing.

Mr Ganeson comes to Optus from Keycorp where he was a General Manager accountable for the global growth of the managed payment solutions, transaction services and value-added applications businesses.

Prior to Keycorp, Mr Ganeson worked for Hutchison Telecommunications, and Hewlett Packard Australia where he was responsible for marketing and business development.

Mr Ganeson said he was excited by his appointment and looked forward to leading Optus SMB on the next phase of its journey.

"Optus is in a prime position to support business customers within the SMB market with tailored and dedicated products which offer greater value, an important consideration for business in the current economic climate.

"In 2009 our focus continues to be on growing the business and in particular leveraging the strength of our mobile business and capability.

"We will have a greater focus on leveraging integrated products and solutions as well as enhancing the overall customer experience," he said.

Mr Ganeson reports to Optus Enterprise and Business Group Managing Director, John Simon.

In another recent appointment, Optus has promoted Mr Phil Offer as SMB Marketing Director.
