Optus announced today the launch of MyTime, a new mobile benefit designed to bring family and friends together and make mobile phones more economical.
MyTime allows Optus post-paid mobile customers to call five nominated family or friends in Australia on their Optus mobile or home phone free for five minutes day or night.
A similar benefit is available to Optus pre-paid mobile customers who will receive 100 to 200 free minutes per recharge to call their five nominated Optus family or friends.
"Optus is pleased to launch MyTime as it gives our mobile customers free calls to Optus mobile or home phones, making it cheaper and simpler to connect them to the important people in their lives," Michael Smith, Group Marketing Director, Optus Consumer said.
"Since 1998 Optus has been challenging the market with YesTime - an offer that allows customers to speak for free on their Optus mobiles for 20 minutes from 8pm to midnight.
"With an increasing number of members within a family owning a mobile phone, it is imperative to offer customers incentives that are attractive, simple and affordable."
Optus MyTime provides customers with an added impetus to consolidate their family mobiles with Optus and enjoy significant savings.
"MyTime demonstrates Optus' continued commitment to the consumer mobile market across both the pre-paid and post-paid segments," Mr Smith said.
Today's announcement follows last week's launch of the $59 Optus HomeOne plan with no line rental, offering people lower costs and more calls - a compelling offer for all Australian households.
On June 11 2006, Optus will begin a national advertising campaign for the new MyTime plans. The campaign will focus on the theme: "Don't let your loved ones drift apart".
