Optus improves network coverage in Warooka
23 Feb 2006

Optus announced today a further boost to its network coverage in South Australia with the installation of a new mobile site at Warooka.

The new site will increase the depth of coverage for the people of the Yorke Peninsula and visitors to the area.

Warren Hardy, Acting Managing Director Optus Consumer said, "The new facility will enhance Optus GSM network coverage in the Yorke Peninsula including the town of Warooka.

"Optus is focused on enhancing its GSM network in South Australia.

"To date, Optus has invested more than $92 million to roll out 265 mobile base stations, providing network coverage to 97 percent of the state's population.

"The increased coverage will allow local residents and rural businesses to communicate more effectively, making it easier to talk while on the go," Mr Hardy said.

Harvey Marcus, General Manager Optus South Australia, said, "The new mobile facility at Warooka, together with a new site planned for Marion Bay, demonstrates Optus' commitment to improving network coverage in South Australia."
