Optus improves network coverage in Victor Harbour

Optus announced today a further enhancement to its network coverage in South Australia (SA) with the installation of a new mobile facility at Victor Harbour on the coast of the Fleurieu Peninsula.

Warren Hardy, Managing Director Optus Consumer said, "The new facility will increase the depth of coverage in the township of Victor Harbour.

"Victor Harbour is a popular holiday destination with its long sandy beaches and island - therefore the new site will provide additional capacity for the township and ensure Optus customers experience seamless coverage during the busy holiday season.

"To date, Optus has invested more than $93 million to roll out over 265 GSM mobile base stations across SA, providing network coverage to 97 percent of the state’s population," Mr Hardy said.

Harvey Marcus, Optus State Manager for South Australia, said, "Optus is focused on expanding its network in South Australia.

"This new site will provide local residents with a real alternative to other carriers and allow current Optus customers to use their mobile phones in more places in the region," Mr Marcus said.
