Optus today launched three new mobile phone options under its CDMA Plus plan, aimed at meeting the growing needs of regional and travelling customers in Australia.
The Optus CDMA service covers over 98 per cent of the Australian population, making it easier than ever before to keep in touch while on the move.
Allen Lew, Managing Director Optus Consumer said, "With the rapid growth of regional businesses and industries in Australia, Optus is making it simpler for locals to stay in touch across Australia. Optus' new CDMA plan offers customers individual choice, freedom and a real alternative to other carriers.
"Whether using the CDMA service for personal or business purposes, customers can choose the best option to suit their lifestyle needs. This is another way that Optus is proving its commitment to providing regional Australia with seamless and effective CDMA mobile coverage," he said.
The first option allows customers to call any three numbers, fixed or mobile, at half price. Small business owners and families will find this mobile plan invaluable to keep their everyday call costs to a minimum.
The second option offers half price calls to any fixed or mobile number in Australia, at night and on weekends. For travellers and casual users, this option offers the flexibility to keep in touch with friends and family anywhere in Australia when they are within CDMA network coverage.
The third option adds up to 50 per cent more call and text credits every month on top of the regular phone plan credits. For residents and businesses in regional areas, this option allows customers to call and text while keeping their monthly spend down considerably.
As well as a choice of three mobile rate options, the new Optus CDMA plan offers customers flexibility in choosing their preferred handsets. Customers can either continue to use their own phone by opting for a month to month plan, or choose a brand new mobile phone on a 24 month plan.
As part of its commitment to regional Australia, Optus plans to increase its rural presence with new retail outlets in various locations in the coming year.
