12 Aug 2005
Sydney, 12 August 2005: The Competitive Carriers' Coalition (CCC) and Optus today released a 10-point plan to future proof telecommunications competition.
The plan represents Australia's first ever joint position by the majority of Telstra's significant competitors.
Optus Director of Corporate and Regulatory Affairs, Paul Fletcher, and CCC Executive Director, David Forman, said the plan was an important statement made possible by the opportunity for lasting reform to be achieved out of the Government's present deliberations on telecommunications reform.
The '10 Point Plan to Future Proof Telecommunications Competition' is endorsed by the CCC and Optus.
Note to Editor
- Members of the CCC include: Macquarie Telecom; Primus Telecom; PowerTel; Hutchison; iiNet; TransACT; and MCI Australia.
- The Australian Telecommunications User Group (ATUG) welcomes this clearly united position on reform in telecommunications.
