Optus was today announced as the presenting partner of Cirque du Soleil's 'Quidam' Australian tour 2004/2005.
This unique relationship between the two companies that challenge the status quo will result in a unique production coming to Australia.
Stephen Cameron, Optus Marketing Director, said the partnership would see Optus supporting an entertainment experience that possesses the same values as Optus - creativity, excellence and innovation.
"Optus is all about connecting people through technology with innovative offerings via the internet, picture messaging (MMS) and SMS. Cirque du Soleil is about connecting people through music and visual artistry.
"Optus will be providing unique experiences for customers and staff. They will be offered priority bookings before Quidam goes on sale to the general public; tailored product offerings including integrated online content activity; Cirque du Soleil ringtones, screen savers, image downloads, music; and collectable prepaid mobile recharge cards.
"We will also offer 'experiences money can't buy'. This will provide behind the scenes experiences for customers. There will be opportunities to win tickets to the premiere of Cirque du Soleil in Australia and other Cirque du Soleil productions around the world," Mr Cameron said.
Mario D'Amico, Cirque du Soleil's Vice President Marketing said Cirque du Soleil's choice of Optus as presenting partner was due to the common vision and values.
"Optus and Cirque du Soleil are extremely creative, flexible and inspiring, we both push the boundaries to deliver uniquely personal experiences," Mr D'Amico said.
Quidam Australian Tour 2004/05 will see the show tour to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.
