Optus improves mobile coverage in Dorrigo
16 Feb 2004

Optus has significantly improved mobile coverage in Dorrigo following the installation of a new mobile tower in the town.

Allen Lew, Managing Director Optus Mobile, said Optus was focused on enhancing and extending its mobile coverage in regional towns and along important roadways.

"The objective of the new site in Dorrigo is to provide maximum coverage to the township, and major roadways servicing the town, like Waterfall Way.

"We are confident people living, working and travelling in the area will now enjoy good signal levels, which is why we are offering a 14 day Coverage Satisfaction Guarantee," Mr Lew said.

Local Optus dealer, Daniel Finlay, said the Dorrigo site would complement recent new coverage in Sawtell and Valla Beach.

"Optus has continued to listen to customer feedback to enhance its coverage, recently undertaking major upgrades of existing sites in Coffs Harbour and Woolgoolga.

"Optus also plans to build new sites in Coramba and Megan in coming months.

"People living, working and travelling in Dorrigo now have a greater choice of GSM mobile network as a result of improved coverage," Mr Finlay said.
