Optus has significantly improved its mobile coverage in the Central West region, following the installation of a new mobile facility thirteen kilometres north west of Gayndah.
Allen Lew, Managing Director Optus Mobile, said Optus was focused on enhancing and extending its mobile coverage in regional towns and along important roadways.
"The Central West has benefited from the commitment we made last year to build an additional 80 base stations in Queensland.
"The objective of the new site is to provide extended coverage in the region, and some on-street coverage to the Mundubbera and Eidsvold townships.
"Coverage will also be improved along the Burnett Highway, west of our existing site in Gayndah, and north toward the site we have planned for Monto.
"We are confident people living, working and travelling in the region will now enjoy good signal levels, which is why we are offering a Coverage Satisfaction Guarantee," Mr Lew said.
"Optus continues to enhance its coverage in Queensland, and has plans to build new sites at Mount Benn and Theodore, in coming months. Further coverage enhancements for the township of Mundubbera are also planned for the coming year," Mr Lew said.
Optus has built more than 200 mobile sites in Queensland during the past four years.
