Optus improves mobile coverage in Bermagui and Tilba Tilba
27 Feb 2004

Optus has significantly improved mobile coverage along the south coast, following the installation of new mobile towers in Bermagui and Tilba Tilba.

Allen Lew, Managing Director Optus Mobile, said Optus was focused on enhancing and extending its mobile coverage in regional towns and along important roadways.

"The objective of the new site in Bermagui is to provide quality coverage to the township, coastal resorts, and the roads linking back to the Princes Highway.

"Car kit coverage along the Princes Highway between Narooma and Agledale has also been improved, as a result of the new site at Tilba Tilba.

"People living, working and travelling in Bermagui and Tilba Tilba now have a greater choice of GSM mobile network as a result of improved coverage," Mr Lew said.

Optus also plans to upgrade its existing sites in Moruya, and build new sites in Brogo, Bemboka and northern Moruya in coming months.
