Optus has significantly improved its mobile coverage along the Newell Highway, and in the region north of Leeton and Narrandera, following the installation of a new mobile tower at Square Knob.
Allen Lew, Managing Director Optus Mobile, said Optus was focused on enhancing and extending its mobile coverage in regional towns and along important highways.
"The objective of the new site at Square Knob was to provide maximum coverage along the Newell Highway north of our existing site in Narrandera, and to provide new coverage in the region north of Leeton and Narrandera.
"We are confident people living, working and travelling in the area will now enjoy good signal levels - in fact, we are so confident that we offer a Coverage Satisfaction Guarantee," Mr Lew said.
Peter Bonaventura from RSC Griffith, said the Square Knob site would complement recent new coverage in Corobimilla, Finley, Jerilderie, Tocumwal, and Warragoon.
"Optus is committed to improving its coverage in regional areas, ensuring healthy competition remains strong in the bush. Additional new sites are planned in Darlington Point and Galore in coming months.
"Residents, business people and travellers in the area now have a greater choice of GSM mobile network as a result of improved coverage," Mr Bonaventura said.
Optus has built more than 700 sites across New South Wales during the past four years.
