Optus today announced a further enhancement to its mobile coverage in the Hunter region, with the installation of a new mobile site in Mulbring, covering Erlington and Freemans Drive.
Allen Lew, Managing Director Optus Mobile said, "Optus is focused on enhancing its GSM network in the Hunter region.
"Mulbring has benefited from Optus' $5 million dollar investment in the Hunter region with plans to extend coverage to Brunkerville, Hunter Economic Zone, Allandale, Pokolbin North, Raymond Terrace South and Medowie South progressively over the coming 12 months.
"The new site will increase the depth of coverage for the people of the Hunter and surrounding areas including Erlington and Freemans Drive.
"We now have 86 base stations in the Hunter Valley and believe that Optus provides the best solution for people requiring reliable mobile coverage in the Hunter region," he said.
Richard Cavill, Optus World Maitland said, "With the Optus World store presence and recent upgrades to Anna Bay, Karuah, Black Hill and Mount Hutton, the residents and business people of the Hunter now have quality mobile coverage and greater carrier choice."
The coverage expansion is part of the Optus strategy to provide the largest GSM network on the east coast of Australia.
