Last week, Optus issued proceedings against Telstra in the Federal Court of Australia in relation to Telstra's 'more coverage' advertising campaign and 'its CDMA coverage' campaign.
Optus alleged that Telstra's campaigns contained representations that suggested that the CDMA coverage of Telstra's CDMA service was wider than the coverage offered by Optus' service. In fact, the CDMA coverage is identical.
The proceedings settled today with Telstra giving undertakings to the court not to make those representations again unless the circumstances changed.
Telstra also agreed to remove from publication certain material containing the major representations complained of and to cease advertising on television and radio in the form of those representations.
Telstra has agreed to pay an amount in respect of Optus' costs.
