Optus to conduct worldwide search for new CFO

Optus announced today that Chief Financial Officer and Deputy Chief Executive, Norman Gillespie, will leave the company at the end of February. Optus is conducting a worldwide search for a new Chief Financial Officer.

"Norman has made a strong contribution to Optus in his four and a half years here, playing a key leadership role as the company floated and later underwent a strategic review which resulted in its acquisition by SingTel," said Chris Anderson, Chief Executive.

"Having seen Optus through key stages in its development, and with the CFO role changing somewhat, this is a logical time for me to seek new challenges," Norman Gillespie said.

"On behalf of the board and management, I would like to thank Norman for all that he has done at Optus, and wish him the best for the future," Mr Anderson said.

Mr Anderson said it was anticipated that a new appointment would be made shortly.
