24 Feb 2002

According to ACNielsen Consult's 11 th Australian Online Internet User Survey, OptusNet and Optus @Home continue to have the highest levels of customer satisfaction and the lowest levels of intention to churn, relative to the top five national ISPs.

When asked, Richard Gillis, Senior Analyst for ACNielsen Consult said "Optus is outperforming all other top five national ISPs across all satisfaction variables measured - including reliability of service, speed of connection, level of busy signals, help-desk call holding times, technical support and overall customer service."

The survey found that Optus @Home continues to have less than 4% of its users dissatisfied with the overall product and almost no customer loss.

"Without question, Optus @Home provides the best value for money residential broadband service in Australia," Mr Gillis said.

Martin Dalgleish, Acting Managing Director for Optus Consumer & Multimedia said he is delighted with the results.

"These outstanding results show Optus ranks number one in terms of customer satisfaction against our largest ISP competitors. This is testament to our winning formula across all Optus consumer products and services," Mr Dalgleish said.

"We give our customers the option to bundle their internet services with pay television and telephony, giving them significant discounts and benefits as a result.

"We are continually improving our networks and are focussed on quality 24 by 7 customer service. This formula is paying off," he said.

OptusNet dial-up internet has more than 62 points of presence (POPs) covering metropolitan, suburban and regional areas in all states and territories. Optus @Home high-speed broadband internet is available in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
