Optus improves mobile coverage in Bannockburn
24 Jun 2002

Residents and visitors travelling along the Midland Highway to the township of Bannockburn will enjoy improved Optus mobile coverage thanks to the recent installation of a new base station.

Local Geelong Optus World store owner Gary Work said Optus is committed to improving the reach and quality of its mobile coverage in Geelong and surrounding areas.

"People using mobiles for business or pleasure will experience better coverage over the year with plans for improvement in St Leonards," he said.

"To maximise coverage, mobile users should install a car kit with an external antenna. As well as coverage gains, we want to encourage safe driving with the use of hands free devices," said Mr Work.

With more than 4 million mobile customers, a third of the nation's mobile users are on the Optus network.
