Optus confirms that it intends to air the National Soccer League finals on Optus Television.
The coverage will commence this weekend and will be seen on Channel 42. Coverage including live feeds of some matches will continue until the season ends.
"Optus has always been keen to show the soccer and made that fact very clear to C7 throughout March 2002," said Martin Dalgleish, Acting Managing Director, Optus Consumer and Multimedia.
"We have been attempting to finalise soccer arrangements with C7 for many weeks - so obviously we are pleased with today's discussions."
Soccer Australia Chairman, Ian Knop, has actively participated in negotiations with C7 and Optus throughout the day.
"Football of all codes - including soccer - is a key driver of pay TV take up and we are delighted that Australian soccer fans are set to see this year's NSL finals on Optus Television," Mr Knop said.
Current Optus Television subscribers will receive the soccer free of charge.
