Cable & Wireless Optus, SAP, SAPMarkets and Commerce One announced today the signing of a strategic alliance to offer integrated e-commerce solutions to businesses in Australia and New Zealand.
The agreement brings together the global and local experience and complementary capabilities of each of the companies to provide increased value to Cable & Wireless Optus customers.
Under the agreement, the companies will jointly identify, market and distribute e-commerce solutions and value-added services to selected customer accounts in targeted industries and markets. In addition, CWO MarketSite will be promoted as an e-marketplace of choice to these customers.
Chris Hancock, Director of Data and Business Services, Cable & Wireless Optus said today's announcement is a huge win for business customers.
"The alliance creates a high profile, one-stop-shop for all the e-commerce requirements of business customers. With CWO MarketSite as the foundation, businesses can connect to an already established e-marketplace and their time to market and investment will be reduced.
"CWO MarketSite provides a single connection to multiple trading partners and potential cross-border connection via the Commerce One Global Trading Web."
Zia Yusuf, Managing Director, SAPMarkets Asia Pacific Solutions said: "This agreement will enhance existing relationships by leveraging the global alliance between Commerce One and SAPMarkets.
"As we move forward to jointly identify target accounts and develop a go-to-market strategy, Optus will be able to offer these customers broad-based e-business solutions," he said.
Lloyd Oki, Vice President, Asia Pacific Sales, Commerce One said: "Our alliance partners in Asia and across the globe are taking the lead in operating e-marketplaces and enhancing e-business capabilities for business.
"As a result of the SAPMarkets and Commerce One alliance we believe that we have expanded the collaborative capabilities of the e-marketplace environment and extended e-procurement possibilities to benefit companies which use our solutions.
"We look forward to working with Cable & Wireless Optus and others to help companies realise the true business benefits that can be derived from a comprehensive e-marketplace strategy," he said.
