This weekend Optus will launch Australia's first 'all you can call' local call offer for residential customers. Optus will also launch a new local call rate of 15c. These offers will be available to customers who are directly connected to the Optus cable network.
With the Optus Unlimited Local Calls package, customers pay a fixed $35 per month (on top of their line rental, starting from $10.95) for all the local calls they make within that month. They will have the certainty of knowing their total bill will be capped at the set monthly figure.
The OneTouch Plus 15c Advantage package offers a low rate of 15c per local call and a monthly line rental package starting from $15.
The new offers are consistent with Optus' values of innovation and flexibility. Both packages offer great value for money on local call rates and total monthly cost.
In addition, the Optus FreeTime offer, which involves capped rate national and international long distance calls, has been extended to include calls from fixed lines to Optus mobile phones. So now Optus long distance pre-selected customers can call an Optus mobile phone and pay no more than $3 for a call of up to 3 hours. Optus FreeTime is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Optus recently announced a trebling in customers on its HFC (hybrid fibre coaxial) cable network over the last 12 months and now has more than 300,000 local telephony customers - with new customers being connected at a rate of more than 5,000 per week.
