Cable & Wireless Optus launches online helpdesk for IT managers
10 Aug 2000

Cable & Wireless Optus today launched e-Care, a new online helpdesk designed to give IT Managers real time access to information about their Internet Protocol (IP) networks.

Designed for the IT departments of medium and large sized businesses e-Care is an advanced website which helps them monitor and manage their networks more efficiently.

David Stokes-McKeon, Director E-Solutions, Cable & Wireless Optus said, "Using e-Care means that companies can focus on their core business, secure in the knowledge their IT department is in touch and in control of the network operations," he said.

"Using e-Care, IT managers can view online important network statistics such as the amount of traffic on the network as well as see fault and outage reports plus billing information.

"For example, using e-Care an IT manager can view the network performance in real time, so if a fault occurs he or she can immediately transfer network operations to backup systems with minimal interruption of the business," said Mr Stokes-McKeon.

"e-Care gives organisations the power to make important business decisions instantly, with the potential for huge cost and time savings," he said.

"This is yet another example of Cable & Wireless Optus helping businesses with e-solutions that deliver real benefits," Mr Stokes- McKeon said.

Initially available to Optus Private IP customers, e-Care is accessed via a web-browser on the desktop, through the internet, or by a dial-up link.
