Say 'yes' at Australia Post

Customers at Australia Post will soon be able to purchase a range of convenient Optus Pre-Paid Mobile Express products.

Post has partnered with Cable & Wireless Optus to offer the products at 800 postal outlets across the country. The range will be available from July 1, 1999.

Optus Express Pre-Paid Mobile products allow customers to pay for calls up front, giving them control over their phone costs and removing the need to issue bills. Products include Start Up Kits for people with their own digital phone, new mobile phone packages and recharge cards for those wanting to 'top up' with more calls. In addition, free calls are allowed between Optus Express customers from 7pm to midnight.

Paul O'Sullivan, Director of Mobile, Cable & Wireless Optus said the partnership with Australia Post is significant for a number of reasons.

"The mobile phone has truly arrived as a popular communication tool - and soon you can buy Optus Express where you buy your stamps," said Mr O'Sullivan.

"Cable & Wireless Optus is the market leader in Pre-Paid Mobile products and Optus Express already has a very loyal following with uptake climbing 160% since September 1998.

"We are also leading the way with major retail distribution, with our products currently available in more than 2000 retail outlets across Australia.
