Discussions with both the ABC and Imparja revealed a handful of communities had not yet installed new digital equipment due to supplier delay. Rather than leave customers without television and radio services, Cable & Wireless Optus will continue broadcasting in both analogue and digital.

The dual illumination period will be extended until 17 March which will provide those customers who have not purchased or installed a digital decoder an additional two weeks to have the service connected.
