The Australian Brandenburg Orchestra last week, officially announced the signing of a major, new Principal Sponsorship for three years with Cable & Wireless Optus.

"We are delighted with the agreement, which we see as a partnership between Australia's finest period instrument orchestra and one of Australia's leading communications companies," said Bruce Applebaum, General Manager, Australian Brandenburg Orchestra.

"The on-going generous sponsorship support of Cable & Wireless Optus will have a major impact on the future of the Orchestra offering the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra the means to plan bigger seasons, secure world class guest artists and ultimately build on creating a greater national profile."

Paul Donovan, Cable & Wireless Optus Chief Commercial Officer, said "Cable and Wireless Optus values what is human and inspiring, and what could be more human and inspiring than the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra?"

"As Principal Sponsor of the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, Cable & Wireless Optus is thrilled to bring audiences around the country an Orchestra of such standing.
