Human ResourcesOur Human Resources area acts as a strategic partner, working closely with the business on a range of strategic projects. Roles within the Human Resources functional group can be very loosely divided into two categories: Consultant roles and Specialist roles.

Human Resource consultants are located with each business area and work as a core part of the team. This approach enables consultants to obtain a broader overview of the business and allows for career development across a wide range of areas.

A number of specialist areas such as Remuneration & Benefits, Employee Relations, Learning & Development, Recruitment and OH&S have been developed to support the group, providing consulting and delivery services.


Learning & Development

Learning & Development is central to the ongoing success of our business. From the design and development of specialised programs through to delivery of in-house programs, learning and development at Optus is not just about classroom sessions. Our Learning & Development people are involved with product development teams and other business-related activities as they partner with the Commercial and Technical groups to provide our people with the skills and knowledge they need.

Because of the variety of activities covered by Human Resources, there is a wide range of jobs available. Most roles have a relatively high “people” component, but some also focus on “data”, “systems” or “ideas”.
